ALOOOOOOOHAAAAAA Day 1

Well I am back. You didn't even know I went anywhere! But I did. I went to Hawaii. Can I get an Aloooooooha! And after a 13 hour travel day yesterday, 3 days of food poisoning, a 12 hour tour of the island, I would say this trip was an A+. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Lets start with day number 1.

It started off with a travel day on Monday...

I love to ride in planes, but not as much as I love boats. But its pretty close. I think the tickle feeling I get in my tummy.

Travel Outfit: Top: Second Hand. Pants: The Gap. Shoes: Steve Madden
The paparazzi followed us off the plane. My dad found a plane dedicated to DISNEYLAND. I sat next to the woman with the scarf over her face for 5 hours. We spotted hawaiian royalty...or he may have just been a man selling trinkets.  And got a lei greeting, which was actually just my mom kissing our cheeks and giving us a lei. Cause the actual people who were supposed to greet us didn't show up...

We then proceeded to find food. At Huggos, where the ground is made of sand!

Hawaii Day 1 outfit: Top; Shade. Shorts: Ann Taylor Loft. Sandals: Old Navy
We also found a live band there, and look at that! My parents. Dad is looking good in moms glasses.

We departed away from Huggos and were stopped by the beautiful hawaiian sunset.
Holding the sun in our hands was my dad's vision. He is an artist!

And day one in hawaii is done and gone in a flash!

Mustache Skirt

Remember this post I did a while ago? Well I was making a skirt for a final in one of my classes. How cool is it that one of my finals was making a skirt? I never would have thought that could be possible!

Skirt: Made by Me. Top and Belt: White House Black Market

Im very proud of this little thing. I made the whole thing by from scratch, including the pattern.

America

Being back in Oregon means that I get to have my dad take pictures of me. He always has some vision that he is working with. This one? America.

Top: Nordstrom. Scarf: Ann Taylor Loft. Belt: Fossil. Pants: Gap.

Here I am again in my denim shirt, told you I love it.

Same Dress Different Days

When my friend was here we went shopping the very first day she came and we stumbled upon a store called Cotton On and we both found a dress for 5 bucks. Best deal ever.

                                                           Sweater: H&M                                       Top: American Eagle
                                                            Shoes: Kohl's                                          Belt: Fossil
                                                                                                                             Shoes: Kohl's

Santa Monica Pier Take 2

Yesterday I went to Santa Monica Pier, again, with my friend from Oregon who is staying with me. We walked along the beach and went shopping a bit too.

Sweater and Pants: Nordstrom. Scarf: Vanilla, in Oregon. Top: White House Black Market. Belt: J. Crew

I have been terrible at gaging how warm it is outside and always end up walking out in jeans and a sweater, but laying is my friend so I am able to take off various things to cool down. Maybe one of these days I can put an outfit that matches the weather.

Aquarium of the Pacific.

Yesterday was a day for a new skirt and the Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach. I made this skirt with fabric from the fashion district and a pattern from the 80's.
Skirt: Made by me. Top: Old Navy. Coat: Forever 21. Shoes: Steven Madden.

The scenery in Long Beach was just beautiful. Every now and then I love to get out of the city, and I love being so close to the ocean so that is usually my get away of choice.

I love me the ocean and some boats.

Some wild life.

My skirt cost a total of $17.00, which I thought was pretty sweet, and I fit in perfect with boats and fish.

Fabric District

Yesterday I went to the Fabric District downtown and got some fabric to make a skirt, which will be in the next post. It was a hot AND cold day and I probably changed my outfit 3 or 4 times throughout the day because I just could not keep up with the weather, but this is the one I finally decided on.

Sweater: Nordstrom. Shirt: Boutique in Carlsbad. Pants: Ann Taylor Loft. Shoes: Old Navy.

Fun Fact: My top is actually a skirt!

I am defs in LOVE with all my new clothing. Also these pants? ON SALE. Oh yeah. Those were my moms find.

Santa Monica Pier.

I can't believe that I have been living here for almost four months and I have never been to Santa Monica Pier...until today. It was just lovely! My mom and I went and walked around, went on the Carousel, ate some ice cream (oops!), and watched something being filmed (ooooo!)! We almost went to the Aquarium but it was closed....bummer. Another adventure for another day.

Dress: Garage Sale, altered by me. Sweater: H&M. Shoes: Saltwater Sandals.

In addition to the pier I got to go shopping at my most favorite store ever, of all time. Nordstrom. I got lots of new stuff so look out cause I am going to have some snazzzzzzzy outfit coming up. Here is a sneak peak.

It was a great day spent with my mom and out in the city.

Twice in the Same Week

Yes. I did wear the same pants in the same week. Once on fake cinco de mayo and yesterday (real cinco de mayo), when I went to Disneyland for the 2nd time within 2 weeks. I played a game with my church and got a free ticket!! Boom!

Top: American Eagle. Pants: Gap. Shoes: Keds. Belt: J. Crew.

Here are a few more photos for your viewing pleasure.

Girl in the corner is my fav part.

Bert is all I care about.

I almost got a picture with Bert but got stolen away by the rides. But I did blow a kiss to a chimney sweep in the parade, and he caught it. I think that's good enough.

Community Service and a Dodger Game

Today was quite a busy day. Started off with Mormon Helping Hands! Where we cleaned Griffith Park and man am I sore, but there is really not better way to start your day than by doing community service.

I wanted to take that yellow top so much! Quite the snazzy outfit I know!

Then I finished the day off with my very first Dodger game! And, boy, was it a wild one. Some kid running out in the middle of the game, getting tackled by 10 security guards. Then over time and winning by a home run. Too too good.

Top: Victoria's Secret. Pants: Forever 21. Bow: Target. Shoes: Keds.

Exhausted but in the best kind of way.

Poster Child and an Outfit

Today was the first day of school, well of my second quarter. It was awesome like I knew it would be. Also, my friend and I had our picture selected to be on a poster at school, and we didn't even know! I just saw it one day and did a complete double take...and then another one after that.

So today we took out picture with the poster!
Dress: Tommy Hilfiger. Belt: Nordstrom. Scarf: Fashion District
Leggings: White House Black Market. Boots: Macy's

And remember 'Modest is Hottest!'
